i've had ome's on mine since new, now at 48,000km with no issues at all, performed really well in all conditions including a lot of time spend on dirt access roads etc up here.

don't forget to turn the vsc off, the only time i've ever gotten stuck on the beach is when i forgot to switch it off

i've also got a 2012 spanish built st, now on 46,000km and not a single issue with the clutch, lots of beach work which is hard on it too and a bit of towing too.

are you still using stock suspension? with a 2inch OME lift i have 265/70r17 BFG AT's on my standard 17 inch alloys. fits fine, no scrubbing etc. will be selling them soon to get a set of 16' steelies and 33s though.

one thing i noticed today, i just got back from the beach and the sand was quite hot, i was able to stand my 3yo daughter on the tailgate and change her out of her bathers, tub doesn't get as hot as the painted surface would.

the conversions you're looking at, if you dont do it yourself are 50k propositions... with the price of the car on top you could pretty much buy a 200 series or a silverado/dodge ram...

I agree with auggie, the local marine volunteers have a huge boat and got a small 5t truck to tow it with, they're not that expensive to buy new either, all ready to go with a warranty etc, good for peace of mind.
