What are the main things to check when a zd30 won't start?
The Nav has been getting harder to start over the last couple of months and this morning wouldn't start at all. It did fire slightly twice but that's it. I assumed it was glow plugs as it seems to have gotten worse as the days have been getting colder. I replaced them and still no go. (one was missing a tip, but that's another matter)
I have:
charged both batteries
replaced glow plugs - checked they get power and the relay works.
drained fuel filter and re-primed the fuel system.
tried my stock ecu as I have been running the rumpig tune
checked all fuses in the car and under the bonnet (that I can find)
got the codes out of it.
0905 Turbo Pressure
Circuit malfunction, Charge Air Pressure Sensor failure
0407 Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit, Sensor or ECM failure
0203 Accelerator Position Switch (incorrect signal sent to ECM) Accelerator Position Switch fault or ECM failure
0707 Fuel Injection Timing Control System
Circuit malfunction, Injection Pump Control Unit failure, Poor fuel quality
I have never checked codes before and this was also the original ecu that wasn't in the car when it stopped working.
The tuned ecu that was in the car when it wouldn't start had the following error codes:
0407 Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit, Sensor or ECM failure
0707 Fuel Injection Timing Control System Circuit malfunction, Injection Pump Control Unit failure, Poor fuel quality
