Steering angle sensor

Just changed the rack after a minor collision. Now I keep getting a fault code c1143 steering angle sensor circuit. Any ideas why?

Just changed the rack after a minor collision. Now I keep getting a fault code c1143 steering angle sensor circuit. Any ideas why?

There's a steering angle sensor on the back of the steering column that detects rotation etc ... the system needs to be reset after any front-end work (wheel alignments, rack adjustments etc). Nissan have a tool to do this. I am not certain if the non-Nissan units can, but I'd be quite surprised if they can't.
