Its not my car so im not on some of the details, a photo attached to identify the engine model.
Car was being driven at 110kph and had done about 50ks since the last stop, then the engine just cut out and would not start again.
It had a new fuel filter fitted about 200ks prior and there was some rubbish in it, so it changed again.
No fault codes.
Trying to start there is an attempt to run, fires randomly, as soon as the key is let go the engine runs backwards for a couple of seconds and a huge amount of smoke comes from the air cleaner.
My thoughts are it is a timing issue, crank angle sensor or timing chain has jumped cog.
