Hi I have Navara 2.5 d40 I would like to know at what stage the low fuel light comes on and how much does tank hold?

Tank holds 80 litres and fuel light comes on with approx 10-11 litres left till empty.

Mine comes on at around 64-65 litres used (15-16 remaining).

If I'm driving constantly at the same rate, like on a long trip, I can do the math to find out how far reserve will last - just plug the figures into this:

km traveled so far times 15 divided by 65 = km to go

Example: fuel warning light comes on at 600km: 600 * 15 / 65 = 138km to go

I wouldn't take it all the way of course, but you'd know you could do about 100km more.

According to Scanguage mine comes on at 17 (similar to Tony's) and if I take a sharp corner the engine misses once or twice when there is only 3 litres left but still runs on the flat. I've done 145ks with the light on traveling the Nullabor and still had fuel left at the servo but like Tony suggested I generally don't push it more than 100ks.

Put a longrange fuel tank in, then you just go off km's. Lol.

My low level beep happend today just as i was pulling into the servo and filled up 65 litrs to the brim.
