my 2.5's blew smoke on take off as well, he just made it sound like its billowing smoke everywhere he goes, by comparison I never see my ZD30 blow smoke even at night through the headlights of other cars.

Spot on there also the oil on the zd30 is much cleaner than the 2.5 when you drop it.

Well.................. the Ute is now due for its 10K service & I'm extremely happy with the performance & fuel economy.

The smoke it was blowing on take off when new has disappeared.

We recently took it up to Broken Hill, Tibooburra, Cameron Corner, Omicron, Epsilon, Strzelecki Track, Innamincka, Dig Tree, Noccundra, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Quilpie, Eromanga, Warri Gate Road, Tibooburra, Broken Hill Mildura, home. Towed a camper trailer all the way - no probs whatsoever.

Next big trip will likely be Gunbarrel Hwy/Sandy Blight Junction Track/Gary Junction Road.
