I know this may sound a little weird. Try spraying water on the engine belts when its making the noise. The belts on these engines give a loud rattle when they are worn. you would swear its a timing chain rattle. If the noise goes away once you wet them, then you've found the problem.
I have just made a spare wheel carrier that slips in the the tow bar tongue. I'm would post up some photos but don't know how. Can someone help me out with some simple instructions on how to do it.
Cheers
Here's a spare wheel carrier I knocked up so I can carry an extra spare wheel without taking up room in the back of the ute. I made it for a trip down the canning Stock Route in June. Just need to add a number plate holder and light and it should be good to go.
I've just experienced the same problem with my D22. With only 75000km on the clock. A really loud rattle on cold start up that you would swear was a timing chain rattle. I put some water on the belts and the noise went away instantly. I have now put a new set of genuine belts on it and the...
My sons Hilux had a bad shudder on take off. I replaced the clutch, although the previous owner had replaced it not that long ago. while doing it I found the spiggot bearing had seized and the input shaft had worn severely. this I believe was the cause of the problem as it no longer occured once...
sounds like the engine could possily be seized or at least binding up.you could try turning it over by hand, usually by the the time your oil light comes on the damage has allready been done.
Ive got a 2011 d22 and my speedo is out by about ten percent too. I took it back to niissan and got the pathetic line that they arn't allowed to touch it by law unless its out by more than 10 %.
your recovery points look good. The bolts should protrude all the way through the nyloc nuts though, so keep a good eye on them that they dont loosen up. Allso if you had cut the section out over the hook on an angle instead of square it would have provided more strength to stop it bending when...
well the new bullbar is on and looks good, had to use a porter power to spread the mounts slightly so they would fit over the chassis but apart from that it was all good.
