mine done the same thing at 50000 ks both timing chains were replaced under warranty the cause was secondary chain guides were worn out

remove the air box and seal all seems and 2 drain holes with sikaflex they leak like sives ive sucked water into my engine through the drain holes i was stuck in a creek up to the door handles so the air box was submerged

they changed the primary chain as a guess because it has been the most common problem with wearing out not stretching( i looked and read the nissan tech bulliten and that is what it states). yes georgeboy my work ute has done the exact same thing only fitted with a arb steel bar but it gets driven pretty hard on a mine site but we werent to consenered as it happens to all vehicles on mine sites. It mite be something worth keeping an eye on
