Hi all
The last few days ive notice a bit more black smoke than normal so in all gears from start it goes no smoke then just before the turbo kicks in she throws a heaps of smoke then back to normal under boost. I have checked for boost leaks all is ok as I have have the boost leak issue before but that normally throws smoke under boost aswell.
Oh and to add it will enter limp mode after 20minutes of this. Has anybody had this before or kbow of possible causes. Im going to get a obd bluetooth adaptor but untill then can any one help.
Also no new mods have been installed for this to suddenly change like it.

Thanks in advance

Do a ECU reset and as suggested clean the MAF sensor. Have you changed a fuel filter recently? It sounds like a over fuelling problem. Try that and see what happens. Let us know how you go.

Black smoke usually means overfuelling. Overfuelling is caused by three things:

1) fuel rail pressure too high
2) injector damage
3) insufficient air

1) Usually the result of a chip set too high, but may also be a faulty pressure sensor. The electrical connections are probably not at fault, if they were then the car probably wouldn't even idle well.

2) injector damage may just be varnish and a good injector cleaner (Liqui Moly) would be the first thing to try.

3) insufficient air could be caused by numerous things.

a) Dirty MAFS is the first thing to try, make sure you don't stick anything in the little hole in the side and don't drop it! It's quite fragile.

b) Turbocharger actuator solenoid slow to respond. Hard to diagnose - best thing to do is look at the actuator while the engine is idling, the little arm beneath it should be moving in and out fairly rapidly.

c) Sticking turbo vanes. Again, check the actuator arm. If it seems to be stopped and then suddenly jerk into motion, the vanes are probably sticking.

d) Ballooning charge air hoses. You'll need help to spot it unless you mount a GoPro in the engine bay.
