Hi ive got a 2013 nissan navara d22 sucked up water and stalled now it idles rough blows heaps of smoke and getting pressure from the engine oil fill point anyone have any ideas cheers

Unfortunate intake placement - you'd have thought Nissan had changed that by now.

The car needs to be looked at by a mechanic. The intercooler could be full of water, there could be injector damage, turbocharger damage - there might only be the water, it could require a rebuild, but until it's checked you won't know.

It's because the air intake sits too close to the left inner guard and large splashes can be directed into the intake. Snorkels prevent it from happening but I do think Nissan could have thought about it a lot better.

Good luck with it!

You would have damaged the rings at best probably the piston lands as well. Sorry to say but you're up for a rebuild.

Hey Pisshead,
Sorry for any sarcasm with replies but your nickname is unique. How did you end up?,has your donk seized or are you going again?.

How deep was the water crossing mate? I'd get it looked at by a mechanic and then work out a cost to fix or insurance claim.. What ever is cheaper or easier..
