Canberra have pity !!!!!
I figure its a good time to put in a new clutch. Already have a new DM flywheel ( couldnt resist as it was only $100 on evilbay a while ago )
Should I go the standard Exedy kit or go the HD.
I use the truck as a daily and rarely tow
BUT
I use the truck at race tracks and the Summernats to tow away the wounded.
I have been doing same for the last 100,00kms on the original clutch.
Is it really worth going the HD route or just do another standard ?

Thoughts?

Hi Paul,

My motto is always upgrade to heavier duty, no matter what i'm replacing the components.gives me peace of mind that it stronger and better than standard.

If I had the opportunity of replacing my Clutch I would most definitely go heavy duty.

2cents Worth!!

Well then you have a tough choice to make, sacrifice something, or go standard

Me personally I would sacrifice something to get something better for my truck.
In the Longrun it'll be beneficial to your truck and you will come out smiling.

5 cents worth.lol

Now there is also the thing of will I still own the truck in another 100,00kms lol
Stock clutch got me this far so in theory it should last the next 100,00kms as well lol

I have to admit the stock clutch has done pretty well. Has flat towed well over 1000 cars of various weights and sizes. An all steel 57 Chev with 2 shredded rear tyres is no easy town lol.
All the way from Aussie legends weighing maybe 100kgs to the Bandag Bullet at 8 Tonnes

Just thought of something else
Will a HD clutch mean a heavier pedal and if so by how much. I dont mind the current soft pedal ( Bad knee )

Most of the new breeds of heavy duty clutches,do not affect your pedal at all.
You can also change your springs in the clutch pedal themselves.to make them return faster and smoother.

Once you've put a heavy duty clutch in you will not look back....

10 cents worth... Lol
