Turbo specs FYI

been looking around into the stock turbos all day and figured id share what i found, to save others time...


D22 YD25 (non variable)
Make: IHI
Model: RHF4H (ball bearing)

D22 ZD30
make: Hitachi
Model: HT12 (journal bearing)

D40 YD25 (VNT)
make: Garrett
Model: GT2056V (journal bearing)

A max of 20 psi.

The TD27T runs 6-8psi. The ZD30 and YD25 are lower compression motors with more boost.

Thanks for that info,
its nice to know mine uses 'Ball' bearings,
and I'll have to check that site out.

A max of 20 psi.

im not sure if a journal bearing turbo is reliable above 15psi? from experience they tend to fall apart anywhere from 15-18psi.
ball bearing units are good to go near 30psi....
the difference is the D40 turbo is ALOT bigger and WAY more efficient! if u google it you'll find they are used in a heap of cars ranging from jeep cherokees to BMW X5's

(the 18:1 compression ratio has a lot to do with it)
