Refit of cylinder head coolant pipe challenge

Hi Team, I have replaced my blown cylinder head with a new one and am struggling to insert the metal coolant pipe into the side of the cylinder head just below the inlet manifold.
I just cannot push it in past the O ring. Its driving me mad.
The engine is in the car and I cannot see how I could fit it before fitting the inlet manifold.
Any tips would be much appreciated.

You can lube the hole, tube and o-ring with vacuum grease. I did mine a few weeks ago and that makes it easy. Even straight glycol coolant would probably do the trick.
