Oil leak after oil change pics inc.

Gday all! Just did a major service today and just got back under the car to check the oil filter after giving it a good drive and cool off and found oil leaking from this tube.

Can anyone explain this?

that's the oil filter drain.
when you replace the oil filter, you first undo it a bit to allow the trapped oil in the filter to drain out. this is because the filter screws down from the top

Ahhh i see. First time its happened to me! But then again the last few times i serviced the ol' girl, she had been sitting cold for 24 or so hours. This time was an hour after it was driven.

Thanks mate! I poked a small piece of rag into the bottom of the hose so its not dripping all over the road and my nice clean driveway.

i just unscrew the filter till it's almost off, and let it drain while the sump drains out, easy!

Lucky you've got a tube. Mine will run all over the block if you don't catch it.
