we went through Gloucester on way home and it bought back memories of the awesome time we had last time we were at poleys
the river is awesome
laying on a air matress floating down river with a beer, doesn't get any better
and the 4wd tracks around polblue are also quite good and challenging with some great scenery
it gets my vote for the next muster location also

Right Then It's Confirmed Next years Muster is at Gloucester :love sign:

Gloucester isn't a bloody bad place to do it, to be honest.

There are some fantastic day trips (non-4WD) taking in the highest peak north of Kosiosko in NSW (1550m above sea level). There are some great 4WD tracks in the same area.

If Poley has fixed their toilets then the place is fantastic, and they might even close it up exclusively for us if we have enough people registering (that's what getting people to register early does for us - we actually have some power to get some really nice stuff).

Barrington is only 2km away, Gloucester 5km further east with a bloody Woolworths and a Caltex (Woolies discounts applicable). There's a hardware store, a late-opening hamburger store that doesn't do TOO bad a job, a pizzeria and a bakery in the day time. There's a bowling club, hospital - dunno why we hadn't thought of that one before.

The river is safe for swimming, rafting, kayaking. Tents in the lower areas work but getting the pegs in the ground is sometimes not always easy, but we're talking about sleeping by a gently-flowing mountain stream.

They have quite reasonable cell phone reception from memory, GOOD hot showers, decent toilets - the place ticks a LOT of boxes. We have to see what the feedback says, but it's definitely a place I'd consider worth looking at.
