Load Helper Spring Adjustment

Gday fellas. Does anyone know, with load helper springs, do you do the adjustment nuts up ALL THE WAY for heavy loads?

I doubt it, but they seem like a dodgy idea to me, you might be better off adding actual leaves to the pack or upgrading

Ah that's where i stuffed up. Didnt jack the car up to take the weight off the leaf springs before fitting. But then again, it was totally unladen when i fitted them.

Doubt the weight of the tub would make a heap of difference would it?

Yeah I couldn't do mine up far while the car was resting on the spring.

I still got mine up a fair way. Probably about 40mm of thread poking out under the locking nut.

I remember someone saying that after using the helper springs, the leafs were no longer inverted but ended up like snakes. The comment still makes me laugh.

Yeh I can confirm. I've had helpers in for just under a year on light duty raised springs with the helpers adjusted to the minimum and my springs are just starting to look like they're going into an 's' shape. Also I have deffinately overloaded the springs on many occasions. Not a long-term option for me ever again.
