limp mode madness

Do you have an auto or a manual? Can you tell us more about this problem, like when does it occur? There are quite a few reasons why the ECU will force the vehicle into limp mode. Usually it'll light something up on the dash (eg the DPF light). Can you tell us more?

Test drove a D40 yesterday for about 15 km, no worries.
Went back today to pick it up to take to a mechanic for a checkup and it went 100m then wouldnt go over about 2000 rpm, switched it off, went another 100m then it happened again. The current owner is sending to a local dealer to get it checked out.
I havn't given up on this vehicle but it wasn't a very good start.
Funny thing is I drove similar vehicle 3 months ago at a used dealer. Was out of my price range but wanted to have a drive anyway. Went 200m and then no power. Had to limp back to the red faced salesman.
