Correct in one, we remove the current chip and read that chip, it is this program that is stored with another copy edited. This new program is put on a new read/write chip. We place an adaptor on the board so if any further changes can be made easily including putting back to factory setting if required.

I will put you on the list

Cheers

it would be very interesting to see.
i understand the chip is not rewritable and you need to replace it with a rewritable one. or have you found a different way around that?

sounds awesome aptuning i would be very interested in this, hopefully won't be no where near as expensive as those tune chips, they are a ripoff! $50 worth of parts and they want over a $1000 dollars for them!

How can your avereage every day 4wd'er afford to do that? i know i can't.

would you be selling just the chip or would you need the ecu to read the original chip?

Ok mate will push the idea a bit quicker, did not realise the demand so it's been a lower priority seems to have generated a few replies and PM's. Will let u know asap.

We would require the ECU as the chip removal can be tricky plus to edit your original program we need to read it first. Cheaper tunes will simply flash a factory program on to your ECU chip, we do not. By editing the original program you minimize the potential for conflicts and detection.

Back to the original issue, 2Greedy - sounds like a dirty MAF Sensor issue to me, excessive fuel and no power are prime symptoms, easy 2 minute job to check and clean, Sensor is located in the intake between the air cleaner and Turbo, 2 screws to whip it out grab a can of MAF cleaner from any auto store a couple of sprays and you should be able to the see the color of the electrodes again! If you need more info do a search on the forum shirley there are instructions and photos posted

Hi dm666

Mine is the ZD30 direct injection, apparently they don't have MAF sensor?

That would explain why no one had mentioned it! well that is the extent of my knowledge on heavy fuel low power'.... Has worked with me in the past with maf equipped vehicles.... Good luck hope you sort it

Hi guy's

well here i am again trying to sort this piece of shit! still no better on fuel or power if anything worse again! is there any point in putting it on a dyno? can they be tuned on a dyno or what can be done?

I'm at my wits end now guy's it's getting to the point i can't even afford to run the piece of shit anymore!

what can i do? how do i find out what's wrong with the piss-on? if i can't get this sorted i will never ever buy another Nissan as long as my arse points to the ground!

hey mate, what does your ute have tub?tray?steel?alloy? do you know its overall weight?
did it one day drop in power or has it always been how it is now?
it could just be a fact that you arnt used to how a diesel ute like the D22 drives, what did you own before the nav?
if its always been at this power level then put it on a dyno and match it to what a stock one runs at,never know it could just be your perception that it should be faster.
in regards to fuel going from the 10L mark to high 12s could be something as simple as hubs locked in,maybe they are broken and always locked in.or maybe you have changed fuel stations/brand of diesel.12s are not crazy high numbers for d22 especially with some other variables that come with age.it is a couple ton 4x4 remember.
honestly as shit as it is you should take it to a diesel SPECIALIST,make sure they know there shit (research them and ask around town). They should be able to narrow it down very fast if there is in fact anything wrong, could be as simple as replaceing injectors

i wouldnt be blameing the care just yet either, there a great ute.did you get it new?

Hi steve thx for input

it is 1850kg weight according to specs, alloy tray, 3" mandrel bent straight throughsystem and 3"dump, snorkel, The power was good till about 80.000k's it's now at 124.000k's, i have gone from 680k's to a tank back to 500 if i'm lucky!

Regularly serviced EVERY! 5000k's. the biggest issue i have with it is i virtually have no power till about 2200RPM and the economy of it, iv'e had non turbo diesels pull better than this, it wouldn't pull the top sheet off ya bed!

can anything be done on a dyno? i thought these things couldn't be tuned?

as far as i know it cant be tuned no but it will tell you how bad it is compared to what it should be and some other details may come out that could narrow it down.so if it used to be better something went wrong.it could be as simple as new injectors.has any diesel mechanics looked at it yet?

hi craig

no i havn't taken it to a diesel mechanic as i can't afford it, and if it is injectors @ $550 per injector! piss-on can bash it where the sun don't shine!

i will never own another one never! been the biggest, roughest, slowest, most under powered, expensive piece of shit i have ever had the displeasure to own! new suspension all round and still as hard as goats forehead to ride in, $780 for a starter motor! $800 for a clutch! !2800 for turbo!

Absolute bullshit m8! they are nothing but a expensive, under powerd,un comfortable, overrated piece of shiot!

yea fair enough,i dont like takeing mine to mechanic if i can avoid it.though they could problly fix it within the day.go have a chat to a reasonable diesel mechanic and see what you can squeeze out of him,you might explain it and he know the asnwer straight away.there about 800 a set on ebay.ive got injectors in my engine thats in the shed, you can have the set for couple hundred if you narrow it down to that.
haha if there not cared for right or have the right stuff in em yea,but look after them and have the right gear in there they are one of the best if not the best ute in its class.youve just been unlucky by the sounds of it which would put anyone of something

Its a shame your experiencing that. Like all new diesels there expensive... but that's why i do 100% of the work myself.
Unless the timing has some how shot its self... i would throw my money on fuel.
Before you send it to the tip, Go to supercheap, grab some liquid-moly Fuel/diesel purge and run the whole 500ml bottle through. My fuel system is spot on and it still seemed to improve power..... Goes better than it did with a near empty tank when its full to the brim..

if that doesnt help, you can grab a set of new injectors of ebay for 950. They pop up every now and then, just keep your eye out.

all the best.

worst part is though craig i have spoken to heaps of mechanics and supposedly good 1's and not 1 of them know anything about e'm! $25,500 worth of rubbish!

sorry to bleed in your ear m8 but it just pisses me off no end, i know there's something wrong but no-one knows anything about them! to even suggest what it could be, i even went to the extreme of doing crank angle sensor, made no difference

So iv'e just come to the conclusion now i will flog the living piss out of it till it dies then buy a landcruiser.

the thing has always been maintained meticulously every 5000k's, never flogged or labored, always ran good $100 dollar oil, genuine filters, ran the best diesel system cleaner money can buy, and this is the benefits i reap.

I just wish it was a common problem that someone could say do this and voila problem solved! i have no issues of doing the work if i knew what was wrong!

what suspension?will make it worse if you get the wrong brand.holy shit what turbo did you buy?
if you hate it so much ill adopt it of you haha
Lawry how did you go installing your clutch?i have to pull my gearbox and diff out to replace my rear main seal that the mechanics didnt when they put the new engine in and also my sump need new gasket seal.if you have done it was it hard to get the gearbox out?
