Fitting snorkle from 3L diesel to a 3.3L petrol engine

Gday does anyone how to fit a D22 3L diesel snorkle to a D22 Navara with a petrol 3.3 litre V6?

I'm wondering if I can use the piping it came with to direct air into airbox?

Maybe a Patrol 3L airbox modified or something similar would give better results and be easier to build.

Any advice would be great, thanks
