Sorry Bullwinkle, yes it is a great spot, will end up back there one day but for now I am content in Esperance catching huge snapper and perusing the endless convoy of overseas backpackers, very easy on the eye.

Cheers John

With the money they make you'd reckon Dave would have brought a real ute by now :sarcastic:

Although the D40 is a nice ute to drive, back in 2006 the D40 was brand new.

I asn't gonna be a guinea pig.

Anyways back on topic.

Fisholot, how's about some pics of all these lovely little backpackers? I've always had a bit of a thing for those blond haired, blue eyed, beautifully tanned Scandinavian girls!

Shitty day in Ballarat; drizzly rain all day like it used to 15 years ago.

Half ya luck, it's only just started drizzling here, the rest of the day it's either been pissing down to the point of not being able to see across the road or overcast.

Rejuvenate an old thread . . .
Been a Firefighter with NSW Fire Brigades or Fire and Rescue NSW as we are called now for 24 years, the last 16 years as a Permanent Firefighter here in Sydney, specialising in Rescue.

Was a St John Ambulance Volunteer for 5 years before being poached and becoming a “Industrial First Responder” (or Rescue Medic), Sub-Contracting providing Pre-Hospital Care at Building Sites, Motorcross, Rodeos, Camp droughts, Marathons, the Royal Canberra Show and school sporting events etc, etc.

I spend many of my weekdays off from the Fire House as a Casual Trainer/ESO for “Fire and Safety Australia” training clients in Fire Safety, Height Safety, Confined Space Entry, Breathing Apparatus and other Fire & Rescue Training.

Ex NSW SES, NSW RFS, NSW VRA, ex NSWFB Electronics Technician and yes I know JAFO

I was in the permanent Fire Brigade in Sydney from 1980 to 1992. One of the first to be trained in heavy rescue. In the times of the battle with the Police rescue squad. Glad those days are behind us.
I left to run a building company (self employed)
and moved to Gods country, (Or where he comes for Holidays)
Queensland.

My kids are both doing Nippers (junior surf life saving) and I've just got my Bronze medallion for the first time (at 41) - apparently I now have to do a minimum of 16 hours volunteer surf patrol. Looking forward to next summer.

Oh, they were real leet in the 80's.
Let an abseiler/climber freeze to death on a cliff one year.
Not long after they turned up at the annual Bushwalkers S&R practise and I end up with one attached to my squad. WTF!

Went up the track 500metres, stretched out along the track and headed bush. Copper says "You look like you know what you are doing" and buggers off back to camp to hoe into his share of the dozen or so slabs stacked into the back of their rescue trailer.

We waited in the scrub till he was out of sight and went back on the road for another kilometre, before we formed a line and headed off the other side.

When the squad asked what was going on, I just said I was told that he would do that and wanted to see if he would. Mostly smiles all around. The real bushwalkers didn't hold any positive feeling towards them as they were trying to throw their weight around and were seen as totally useless.
