Spent the weekend building a set of drawers to suit the back of my D40..

I used 17mm Form Ply along with the plastic boat slides as runners. Petty happy so far..

Wrapped it all up in carpet today and started the dual battery install. Side wings for the drawers still need to be completed.

Nice job mate!!
Nothing beats building it yourself!!
Can't wait to redo it when I upgrade eventually haha

Thanks guys. Yeah doing it yourself is great.. Can get it exactly how you want it.. Still a work in progress but happy so far!

Started filling in the side sections last night. One side for 2 x Jerry Cans and the other will have air compressor bolted down to take away the dead space which will be next to the fridge once I build a slide.

Finally finished the drawers the way I want them.. Came up better than I expected and pretty happy with $$$$ they cost me. Definitely worth giving it a crack yourself. Very nice work...I ran a stereo off my second battery in the back, speakers in the draws, sweet having music playing and not running main battery flat, kids can also watch dvd off if when the plug there little tv into it, was thinking of runing a uhf as well

Very nice work.
Thanks for the tip on the boat slide and where to put them.
How did you fasten them?
I need something like that under my drawers as painted wood sliding on formply just doesn't work too well.

Thanks mate.

No worries. They have a routed section in the middle so gives a good spot to bang a few screws down the middle.. You won't need a lot to hold them there as they won't grab on anything and the weights down on them anyway.

I reckon I could of got away without the boat slides and just had form ply on form ply but for $11 each it was a worth while addition. But painted surface on it can't be going to good?
