D40 steering wheel in d22?

So my d22 wheel is perishing so I figured the best way forward for me would be putting a d40/patrol/xtrail wheel in with the radio controls, does anyone know if the fitment is the same across the platforms? I would imagine it would just come down to splines

If you like a similar style wheel, one off an early model X Trail should fit with buttons.
Even if a D40 wheel fit, it would be hard to get the buttons working with your radio.

hard next to impossible considering the amount of wires you have to mess with. wheel controls on a truck are whatever anyway, have them on my civic and they are useless. much easier to turn volume up or down from the radio direct. steering wheel itself might not even splines might be different. for start colour code wont match
