Bullbar mounted am/fm radio

Hi guys.
Just bought myself a brand new d22 and have already started improving it! I installed spotlights lastnight but came unstuck with what I thought was going to be easy. I bought a bull bar mounted am/fm aerial so I don't have to use the nissan one. Ran the cable inside and plugged it into the back of the head unit. Then....... Nothing. Radio didn't turn on? What am I missing? Is the radio powered by the nissan aerial cable somehow?

Had a search on here but can't see anything that gives me an answer

Have you re-fitted all the head unit screws? they're used as an earth.

Ah I didn't re-fit the head unit, no. Will give that a go in the morning! The factory cable worked the radio even when it wasn't screwed in. But yeah I'll give it a whirl. Thanks!
