4 wd switch faulty on D40 ?

Hi Guys,

Have had trouble engaging 4Wd in a D40 (manual)
Displays 4wd warning light but will not switch to 4wd.
Resets itself when ignition is switched off then back on.
Nissan dealer had a look and said they had cleaned the relays ???
Worked okay briefly then played up again.
Has anyone else had this sort of problem or had to replace a switch.
Don't know whether to take it bake to Nissan or give the job to a 4wd service centre to sort out.
Your thoughts?

We had another like this just yesterday and I typed out the reasons for this failure from the manual, let me find that thread and point you to it...

Thanks Tony,

Have booked in to Nissan for the D40 alloy wheel recall inspection on Friday.
Will get them to run diagnostic tests to see what's up with 4wd switching while they have it there.

Mine was doing this before I replaced my clutch. Weird but it's fine now.
