Yes, I had the exact same squeak. I convinced the dealer to fix it under warranty (he didn't want to, he told me "most of them make the same noise"). They pulled the backrest apart and lubricated the springs and metal components inside. Problem fixed. Hope that helps.

I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know. I found a 255/75 R17 with an outside diameter of 814mm. Is that too big? Or a 255/70 R17 at 789mm. The standard 255/65 R17's are 763mm. Otherwise I'll just go for the 265/70's at 803mm. Any thoughts?

Cheers Auggie. I had 235 85 16's on a Hilux and it was a great size. I don't think wider is necessarily better, hence I'm looking for something similar for my 17" rims.

Thanks for the reply Tony. I'd hoped that with less than 15,000km on the clock it wouldn't be clogging up already. I read of someone who had their auto transmission reprogrammed or reset or something... I'll ask the dealer about it anyway.

Just got my recall letter today. Should I remove the EGR blocking plate before i take it in for the service? I believe this only affects Spanish built D40s. Mines a 2012 model.

I installed mine yesterday and re-used the original gasket on the intake (upstream) side. Not sure if that was the right thing to do. Any thoughts? I was told not to bother with any gaskets because it is very low pressure?? No error codes so far, and the turbo does seem to spool up quicker...

Can anyone confirm if the latest Spain built D40 ST models have any problems with the EGR mod? I remember reading that some owners had to drill a small hole in the plate, but now I can't find any reference to that. Is there anyone with a Spanish 2012 D40 that has fitted the plate? Cheers, Harry.
