think I've just done a head

They are aftermarket castings out of Spain. Non genuine but a mate who works for nissan here recommends I use them over a gen nissan one as it is reinforced around piston 4 chamber where they all seem to crack. This is what they use/ recommend in the workshop over gen nissan heads. Hope this...

think I've just done a head

Just got the results back and head isn't very good. 2 good internal cracks in chamber 4. That will now also be replaced. Apparently the heads out of Spain are the ones to use as they are reinforced is this area from the castings. It will also cop new valves while we are there. So come next...

think I've just done a head

Here it is, sorry for the delay as I was trying to save $$$ for worst case scenario. The head has come off and looks good, that has been sent off to be pressure tested but from initial inspection it looks fine. The head gasket was spilt near the rear right water jacket. It was split from the...

    power loss. 2011 d22

1310-71, totally agree with that saying. Have had a heap of performance cars and I believe you should run them in how you intend to drive them. If they break in the run-in period, it was never built strong enough in the first place. T54

intermittent and sudden power loss 2011 d22 4x2

I was just reading on another forum about head issues and a similar problems came up that someone was talking about. Their issue was about the 2800-2900 rpm you would loose about 10-15psi. It turned out to be a neutral gear switch cutting in. He said if it happens you can just hold the...

03 ZD30 Engine stops whilst driving

I had a similar thing happen a month ago but it was as I was a accelerating up to 100kms on the freeway. I was powering up and then it was like the engine died. I pulled off the road turned the key and it started. Just before I took off our convoy had stopped and I thought Maybe I was driving on...

think I've just done a head

Hi All, I was under the nav on friday and noticed some clean coolant under the gearbox. I was hoping to find it coming from a split heater hose but after pulling off the intercooler, wheels and underguard plastics and getting a good look at it, I found where it is coming from. This is the...

    clutch replacement!!

I am just about to replace the clutch in my D22 3.0. I am putting another xtreme HD clutch back in it. The one in it seemed great, it is now just got a heavy pedal and if we are pulling the gearboxw out, I may as well do the clutch unless it is still really good and the heavy pedal is something...

We have had a bit of time off on the guards over the last few weeks but finally after the last 2 days of getting them right they are on. They will be painted blue the same as the car once I do the backs so I can paint them all together. I am really happy with the way they have turned out, they...

While I had the guards off and had easy access to the bottom of the arch I also ground off the excess metal and cut the seal panel back a little and rust guarded, sealed and painted it all. I them got my heat gun and moulded the factory plastics to sit back in the arch and guess what... no more...

Build Plastic ones and mould them to the original flares. This will mount the same but instead of the factory (weak) clips we are screwing them from the inside of the guards on the front and running the factory clips in the back: This will be hi-filled and painted blue once we do the rears...

Second on the list: Widening guards I started this over the xmas holidays but have done my back in so I haven't got to the rears yet but a mate of mine is a plastic bonder welder and repairs car bars, interiors stuff really anything that is plastic, so I asked him if he could help me widen the...

The front was a bit of mucking about but I think I sorted it: The ironman bar and mounts sit out quite far front the front of the car so my solution requires having to fold another small plate that will give it a little more strength and carry the bash plate u to the front bumper. Here's what I...

First on my list... Bashplates After reading lots on here I decided to get a set of Ironman plates and modify them to fit. Funny how they done even fit their own front bar. Anyhow here's what I did: After fitting them all up and not wanting to have to pull them off everytime I needed an oil...

So the first thing was to take him driving and check for rubbing and YES to did rub. As it is mandatory here to run mudflaps I had a set on the front but they almost got ripped off when flexing. They will be the first to go. Doesn't look much as photos never do but this track will be awesome in...
