    Accessories on a new D22 ST-R

Bloody hell. The ST-R has a '4 X 4 OFF ROAD' decal on the side. Surely that indicates that the vehicle is meant to be used off-road. How can the dealer fail to honour the warranty if you go off-road. But then they have more escape clauses than a pre-nup agreement. I have a contact who fits...

    Accessories on a new D22 ST-R

Thanks for the replies. I'll reiterate here by saying again that I'm retired, on the OAP, and want to keep the factory warranty as long as possible. @John.....Mate, I wont be doing any musters, or any other off-road heavy duty tracks, just want to do stuff like the Cape with safety, and...

    Canopy or hard lid?

Thanks John. Never thought about the weather, probably because it's forgotten how to rain where I live. That's exactly the sort of feedback I was looking for. Cheers

    Canopy or hard lid?

First up, let me say that I'm retired, so don't need the ute tub for work, and a lot of my mates have trailers if I need to move something large. Most of my traveling will be max 2 up and I intend to remove the rear seat and fit a shelf for the fridge and a secure box for camera gear etc. So...

    Accessories on a new D22 ST-R

The genuine Nissan snorkel from Nizbits is $370 and is supposed to fit the new models with twin batteries. Nissan want $800+ to supply and fit, a bloody rip-off, but then you don't have a warranty problem 'coz I'm sure that if anything goes wrong, motor wise, they will blame the after market...

The 2013 ST-R and all the blanked-off bits.

Thanks for sorting me out. I can't help being the eternal optimist.

    Toothpaste on headlights???

Ah Mate, your headlights now have the Colgate gleam !!! They will probably be on the front cover of 'New Idea' next month.

Fitting an OEM towbar to a D22 ST-R

$480.00 here...http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-D22-Navara-Dual-Cab-ST-R-GENUINE-Tow-Bar-Part-NIG9162-VY050AU-/141107329185?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20daa6f8a1 And the dealers wants about another $400.00 to fit it. I think that is daylight robbery.

The 2013 ST-R and all the blanked-off bits.

I'm in the market for a new D22 ST-R and am doing my homework. I was at the dealers today looking at all the things I didn't look at on my first visit. Holy snappin' duck poo, this ute has the most uncomfortable seat I've ever sat in. Gotta go, ASAP! Looked around the cabin and found all...

    Accessories on a new D22 ST-R

Thanks for taking the time to give me an insight into the sort of things I'm unaware of. EGR mod:.... Is this the blocking mod? Will it interfere with my warranty? Rear Bar:.... I was looking at fitting a tow-bar with an optional lock-in recovery point. Bash Plate:.. My choice of Bull Bar...

G'day from an Old Fart from the Hunter Valley

G'day mate, you sound about my vintage. I lived on the coast for twenty years and spent a fair bit of time in Mudgeeraba and Mt Tamborine.

Had a long hard look at it but it was a bit beyond my budget.

    Accessories on a new D22 ST-R

@bods..... Thanks for replying. The problems you mentioned with sealing the snorkel is pretty much why I've decided to get it dealer fitted. It's a brand new vehicle and if I have problems I have some comeback under warranty. And I've had a look at the spray on linings such as Rhino and decided...

G'day from an Old Fart from the Hunter Valley

I reckon the front seats would be the most uncomfortable I can remember sitting in, so they are at the top of my list of mods. The back seat I'll probably remove and use the area for storage. Thanks all for the welcome.

Fitting an OEM towbar to a D22 ST-R

Another question on my new 2013 D22 build. Can an old mug like me, sorta handy, fit a genuine Nissan tow-bar? Does it require any serious drilling of the chassis? Is the wiring loom already at the back of the vehicle requiring only a 'plug-in' type connection. Stay with me guys, I'm an old...
