Yep same, what bothers me more is I was just about to do the exhaust and chip the same week it happened, I asked the stealership when I picked mine up from the repair if I had an aftermarket exhaust would warranty still have covered the faulty egt sensors or would they have blamed the exhaust...

My new d40 went into limp constantly and my dealer expected me to wait over a week before they would look at it, I had to complain to the service manager to get it looked at earlier, mine had the egt sensors replaced but they didn't have them in stock and said it was a 2 week wait for parts so...

If it still does it with the chip off just take it to the dealer, my 09/12 build just got back from the dealer after the 2 EGT sensors went and apparently it's not uncommon....

Turned out to be both EGT sensors were blown / faulty......

So using the torque app I got code P0546 EGT high temp bank 1' it's happening and going in limp mode constanly now so today I checked all fuel hoses were tight and fuel filler, reset ecu it's still doing it so I've taken the blank plate out. Not happy.

How do I find the code number? There has been no warning lights or alarms go off or anything? I have Ben thinking it might not be the plate as its so random

After 300kms today it went into limp mode 3 times with the hole drilled in the plate, looks like the plate is coming out......

I've got a sept 12 model and mine was fine for a few thousand kms then recently it started going into limp mode, the torque app fault code was "egr temp bank 1". I dunno if its the hot weather we have been having lately just pushing temps over or not but I have drilled a 4mm hole in the plate...

Thanks for the replys guys, I called the dealer service dept and was put on hold four times for some very basic questions.... I did an ecu reset and ill see if that does anything it just seems odd that it was fine for 2k km you would think if there was a sensor it would happen straight away...

Hi guys I have an 09/12 build manual D40 2.5 I did the egr blank at around 4000km and love it much smoother / no lag at slow speeds and around 8.3l/100km (mostly highway), at just before 6000km on the highway it goes into limp mode so I pull over turn off then on and all ok then today at 7500km...
