timing chain parts needed

i cant find what im looking for so ill have to ask

the d40 yd25ddti engine do you have to change the lower timing crank gear to double row ? will the old yd25 crank gear fit?
can i change the d40`s yd25ddti vacume shaft and gear over to yd25 and use its double row gear
what esle do i need to know?
is the deisel pump gear needed also ?

was the old yd25 engine a single row upper chain and double row lower chain ?
i know i can buy conversion kit from yd25
or from engines australia
ive never seen to two engines pulled apart so i dont know whats going on im a diy person and i love to know every thing before i start

any help appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

Both original chains are single row. The YD25 kit includes everything you need including tensioners, but they are the same tensioners as originally fitted - so be wary of using after-market oil filters. While the failures of the tensioners (and then subsequent chain failure) may have been contibuted to by after-market oil filters in some cases, the evidence is anecdotal and may have been coincidental. With something this important, it's not something I'd leave to chance.
