Speedo/check engine light problem.

hi there, im new to this forum, i joined it to get advice and help on my d22 zd30. i live in barbados in the caribbean, good local knowledge is a scarce thing. my speedo recently stoped working, i understand that it is a sensor that possibly needs changing, i have notice when i realy press out the truck between 3500 and 4000 rpm i get a check engine light, could this be related to the speedo?

That maybe because the speed sensor isn't working.

How's it rev it out ?

yea its reving out fine, its only when i get nearly flat out that the light is comming on
