Pointless light

Just a quick one, I got myself a batwing work light from bunnings; handy little work light but not the reason for posting. I couldn't help but marvel at the pointlessness of it having a little red LED that come on when you switch it on:

Surely the million* Luxes burning your retina from the LED light itself is indication enough.






*1 million lux may be a tad over estimating it but you get the idea.

Wtf!!!! hang on I don't suppose its a charging indicator too?

The light is also used to turn green when charging is complete, but why have it one on during operation? Balmy.

You can't say you weren't told it was running and consuming power.

Fault diagnostic?
If it doesn't come on, then the switch is now faulty?
If it does come on, but no light, then the LEDs are buggered.
