Hi
I’m working on ma mates pickup and yesterday I took the battery out to charge it but locked it up before removing the battery as it’s sitting out on the street. Went round this morning took the cover off the passengers side door handle to get at the key lock and it doesn’t work just turns from side to side doesn’t sound like the back of the barrel is connected to anything. Anyone got any ideas on how to get in to it so I can put the battery back in cheers

That key is supposed to work! :(

If the battery terminals are loose, I wonder if you could jumper a battery (even a small gel battery like you'd use in a UPS) to earth and to the loose positive cable from under the front? It only has to power the ECU+BCM for a few seconds, really.

Hi old Tony thanks for replying
I put a jump lead on the power cable from the battery to the starter motor from underneath and on to the charged battery and from battery to earth And tried the key fob but that didn’t work just tried a suction dent puller on the windows to see if I could pull them down n that didn’t work also think I’m going to try drilling 3 holes on the grill to get access to the bonnet lock n see if taking them out will open the bonnet unless there’s any other ideas 🧐
Aye well that’s something else I’ll need to fix lock on passenger door 😂

If your mate has breakdown cover, see if they can call out an auto locksmith as part of their service.

Just to let everyone know was able to drill 3 holes in the blanked off bits at the top of the front grill and undone the 3 bolts holding the bonnet catch lifted the bonnet enough to get jump leads onto the battery leads and it opened with the key fob 👍🏻
