got my 265/75r16 want to go wider 285's, and 2 inch taller (33's) what number is that on side of tyre the radial.

got 2 inch lift and getting 2 inch body lift so they will fit.

Saved this excellent page telling you the speed differences when tyres are on.

so 285 wide tires thats what i'm getting, 70r16 that is a 2 inch bigger tire than the 265r16 is that right

From what I can see you are looking at just over 1" in height from a 285/70/16 to a 265/70/16

so what tire size would be 2 inch in height larger than the 265.
want 285 ? 16 would it be 285/80/16 i think so but just to be sure

sorry guy's i am new to this 4x4 game very adictive it's a bug god loving it, just confused about the tyre size's.

out today on the massive sand dunes at lancelin WA , then chillin on the beach
aint life a bitch:)

265/70r16=30.6"
285/70r16=31.7"
265/75r16=31.6"
285/75r16=32.8"
285/80R16=34"

So 285/75R16 is closest to 2" higher than the 265/70

If you do allot of sand dunes I wouldn't go that big coz it will kill the power. You will want to fit new diff gears if you do go that big.

To get a tyre 2inches in vehicular height u would need a tyre that is 4inches larger in diameter and I highly doubt u would get it to fit on w/o doing some major mods to the panels.... to get the 2" increase that u mentioned, u would have to look at get a 35" size tyre......

your STD tyres (265/70/16) are = to 30.6" size tyre
your 265/75/16 (& 235/85/16) are = to 31.6" size tyre
your 285/75/16 (& 255/85/16) are = to 33" size tyre (285's actually 32.8")
your 315/75/16 size is = to 34.6"

tyre availability is another thing u need to look at as well

thanks mate helps loads.will i also need a body lift to have 33's don't
