Front panel update

First post here, been searching for a while on this idea.

My cousin has a 1998 D22 with a buggered motor, has an 05 D22 Tub bolted on already, my thoughts where to bolt on the newer front panels and bonnet and drop in an LS1.

Does anyone know if the newer front panels, bonnet, lights and grill will fit the older model?

they look like the doors and everything else will match, but am i barking up the wrong tree?

As far as I am aware, even D21 panels will bolt on.

The radiator support might be slightly different, for different healights etc. Probably isn't though.

From some research, my understanding is the chassis is identical? how do i confirm these things?

Other things i want to know for sure about before i take on this idea is the SAS, i see they use the kit from calmini on old and new models so it looks as if they are just about compatible with most things.

An if i went custom GQ axles under it, how much wider would the wheel track be?
