Engine light on with Air Con

G'day everyone,
I was chatting to my father's mate this arv who has recently bought a 2004 V6 D22 Nav with low ks. He is very happy but said it has one little problem.

When he turns the A/C switch on the engine light illuminates on the dash. He said it doesn't stay on but is intermittent.

I mentioned the combined wealth of kmowledge on the forum but he is computer illiterate!

I thought I read about a similar problem on here a couple of days ago but after extensive searching cannot find it.

Can anyone help direct me to more info or a solution?

Good question. I didn't ask him and he didn't specifically say but I was under the impression that it does.
I am sure I read about a similar occurrance on here the other day within another thread but I didn't read it thoroughly because I have no probs with my own Navs AC or engne light.
