4L noises

Whenever I engage 4L in my D22, I move off slowly and I would hear a loud bang & clicking noises afterwards. I've check all my mounts & they are in good shape. The noises never occur in 2H or 4H.

Stretched transfer chain?

Yes, probably stretched transfer case drive chain, there are videos on youtube of the noise, check it out and see if it's sounding the same.

If it was the transfer chain it should click in 4H as well. I wonder if it's the gear or a bearing on the reduction gear?

Old tony is right a mate strip 4L out, one of the gears lost a few teeth

Ok guys I greased the nipple on the front propeller shaft & the noise is gone.

So your uni's were binding, I didn't realise they were grease-able, I must check, glad it's sorted then.

I'm still shocked at what a little squirt of grease can do. There is one nipple on the propeller shaft. The nipple is on the end closer to the transfer case.
