Just took of plastic cover over motor, noise seems to be coming from middle of motor, its only a slight metal ticking noise, must just be the D40 motor. I have own diesel utes for over15 years and they all have there own sound. What do you think of Castrol Magnatec Diesel? I have no DPF.

I have a slight ticking noise in the engine bay, it comes from near the turbo area, RX 2010 Manual 10k on clock. Im thinking either noisy injector or SCV, the car only gets driven once a week, I have Hilux ute I use for work(cant fault the Hilux very reliable)

Did they use Magnatec 10w40w or Magnatec 15w40w diesel.

I have a manual so no DPF, I have decided to use Pentrite HPR Diesel 5. Dont wont to risk it with crap oil.

Took it to Nissan, all fixed, they replaced the faulty sensors, I was told it is a common problem.

I bought my new 2010 D40 Dual cab RX with sidesteps, nudgebar, towbar plus other item from Rockdale Nissan in 2010 for 29K, where as Sutherland Nissan wanted 39K with no inclusion. Pays to shop around.

What do you guys think about the 10w 40w Magnatec for 2010 manual D40? I have only done 12k I was going to use the Magnatec Diesel but I saw it is 15w 40w, Nissan recomend 10w40. I use it in my Hilux 2000 model and it has decrease in engine noise from timing chain.

I might just change the oil to Valvoline Durablend 10w-40 they used penrite 5w-40, I think its little to thin for my manual ute, it never made the sound before the second service.

Hi what do you think about the nulon additive, I have slight rattle for 5 sec on startup, always service at nissan only 20,00kms on the clock, should I use it or not?

Thanks Sounds like a common lame solution fron Nissan, they are so full of it. I wish they were like Toyota, my work van Hiace had a warranty issue and was fix so easy by Stewart Toyota at Kirrawee, why cant they do nissan work too.

All fixed,not doing it know, I think I just was a bit hard on the gas from starting on a hill, had to pull out in front of traffic and I gave it a bootful. Just restarted several times and went for a drive and no sign of low oil sign.

Hi Guys Just started my 7000kms D40 on a hill and took of anr the low oil light came on for a couple of minutes then went off, I checked the oil level "full", restarted the car and it happen again. What should i do?

Hi Is it possible to utilise the locking system originaly supplied, the button on drivers door that locks all door, with a remote key button.
