Tyre width on standard 17 inch rim

Well could have gone up to the 265/70 but with the manual and towing the Caravan I though that might have been a bit too much of a jump. Have had the 980 s fitted and initial impressions are good. Slight increase in noise but you have to really listen for it.

Tyre width on standard 17 inch rim

Thanks Shaun. Funny that it appears the 265/70 is allowed but not the 265/65.

Tyre width on standard 17 inch rim

Haha no. It was an interesting discussion as they originally suggested the same thing, just go up a size and everything is easier. Then they got the book out and all the manufactures were saying the same thing, min 7.5 rim for a 265. So then they got the 'standards' book out (cant remember the...

Tyre width on standard 17 inch rim

Hi all, Yesterday went looking for tyre to replace the OEM tyres. Was hoping to go up a size to get a little more height and to go for a more standard size. Was told that it's not legal to have a 265/65 - r17 on the standard 7 inch rim. Ended up ordering some Maxiss 980's but paid an extra...

Second set of wheels / tyres for 2012 St

Thanks Bigmik3, I think in the end that's the path I will have to take. Just struggle coughing up for new tyres when the factory ones have on,y done 40k. Will pay a visit to some tyre places during the week, got 7 weeks before we head off.

Second set of wheels / tyres for 2012 St

Hi all. I have a fairly stock 2012 ST that still has the stock wheels/tyers. I am planning a trip that will involve some moderate 4wd with the risk (if it rains) of some very muddy roads. I was after some advice on what to look for in second hand set of wheels tyres with AT or mud tyres on them...

    Electric Brake Controller Installation

I wired mine directly to the battery (with fuse etc) as I would prefer to have brakes available in the unlikely event of needing them while the ignition is off. The unit goes into a standby mode and does not use much power. I have only had my battery go flat once and that was after an overseas...

    2012 ST Dash Removal

Thanks Jason R. Iv'e been interstate all week working and finally got a chance to have a go today. It does just pull off but I was surprised at the amount of force required to get it off. Thanks again.

    2012 ST Dash Removal

Couldn't seem to find one that shows the new dash. They all refer to starting with the tray at the top but the 2012 dash is different.

    2012 ST Dash Removal

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience removing the 2012 ST (Spanish built) dash to replace the Stereo. I can get the cup holder out and the gear leaver surround no problems. For the life of me I can't get the rest out. I've removed the few screws that I can see but still...

    Electric Brake Controller Installation

Thanks Old Tony, Looks like I may have solved the mystery. Not sure which one but I re-did all of the connections and all seems to work much better. Haven't taken the trailer for a run yet but plugged it in and the current seems to adjust as expected. Had the wife press the brakes and I could...

    Electric Brake Controller Installation

Thanks Old.Tony, Yeah power is coming directly from the battery via a 30 amp auto reset circuit breaker. The voltage on the unit seems to operate correctly and adjusts when the brake pedal is pressed, just very little current.

    Electric Brake Controller Installation

Sorry for digging up an old thread but it seemed pointless to start a new one. I'm after a bit of help after installing my Tekonsha P3 int my 2012 ST. The install went well and all seemed to be working well. Unit operated correctly and brake switch worked fine. Tested power to the trailer plug...

installing coax for an aerial for CB

It's about mid way up, you can't actually see it from the top of the engine bay so I just pushed the coat hanger through until I could see that (about 300mm) and then manoeuvred it where I needed it to go.
