I know the belt tensioner can cause loud rattles when it's starting to let go. Also your glow plugs could be worn and when the engines cold your not getting enough cylinder temperature and your not getting a good clean burn, just an idea.

ZD30 I'd be reasonably confident that it will go a long way further. General maintenance things will still need to be done like wheel bearings every 45,000km etc. YD25 I believe had chain issues etc but I could be wrong.

Provent 200 hands down. I've tried a couple of others like HPD cans etc but none have done as good of a job at separating as the provent. Just make sure you get one of the genuine ones not a cheap chinese knock off.

For anyone interested, I bought the EFS-16E comfort springs from EFS. It was still pretty stiff on our horrible SA roads, I ended up removing one of the middle leafs in the pack which has made it much more floaty and comfortable.

Thanks guys, engine mounts look fine on both sides. The mounts are both the same part number just a different revision supposedly, they both sit the same height unloaded, same as the old mounts did.
