Well could have gone up to the 265/70 but with the manual and towing the Caravan I though that might have been a bit too much of a jump. Have had the 980 s fitted and initial impressions are good. Slight increase in noise but you have to really listen for it.

My book and all documentation I can find says the rims are 7.0 inches wide, that's why the restriction. Have ordered the tyres but have not paid yet.

Its a 2012 ST Spain build. It's got 255/65-17 on it at the moment.

Hi all, Yesterday went looking for tyre to replace the OEM tyres. Was hoping to go up a size to get a little more height and to go for a more standard size. Was told that it's not legal to have a 265/65 - r17 on the standard 7 inch rim. Ended up ordering some Maxiss 980's but paid an extra...

Thanks Bigmik3, I think in the end that's the path I will have to take. Just struggle coughing up for new tyres when the factory ones have on,y done 40k. Will pay a visit to some tyre places during the week, got 7 weeks before we head off.

Hi all. I have a fairly stock 2012 ST that still has the stock wheels/tyers. I am planning a trip that will involve some moderate 4wd with the risk (if it rains) of some very muddy roads. I was after some advice on what to look for in second hand set of wheels tyres with AT or mud tyres on them...

I wired mine directly to the battery (with fuse etc) as I would prefer to have brakes available in the unlikely event of needing them while the ignition is off. The unit goes into a standby mode and does not use much power. I have only had my battery go flat once and that was after an overseas...

Yeah after doing it a couple of times now it's pretty simple. Just need to get used to using a bit of force.(but not too much)

Couldn't seem to find one that shows the new dash. They all refer to starting with the tray at the top but the 2012 dash is different.
