    D40 heater flow

Apologies for feeding info here in dribs and drabs. Thermostat and waterpump have been replaced. The thermostat doesn't impede flow through the heater when closed. I removed the outlet pipe from the heater and observed flow from it and was comparable to a pathfinder I have in the yard.

    D40 heater flow

The pipes in and out of the EGR cooler are hot, but no heat on the inlet to the heater. I’ve flushed the return pipe to the block and the heater itself and all pass fluid easily

    D40 heater flow

I recently fitted a YD25 engine in a Navara, I had seen the engine running and it drove fine around some private ground before I bought it. Once fitted and on the first test drive on the open road I saw the temp rise so let it cool and brought it home. Temp gauge didn't go into the red. I...

    Replacing exhaust flexi joint

    D40 will not boost until 2200 - 2500 revs

First video is of the vac input to the turbo actuator, as you can see it's all over the place. Not shown here, but I measured the input to the BCS at a solid 25 inches but there was also a reading of 20 inches from the BCS to the air intake. So I reckoned I had only about 5 inches on the...

    D40 will not boost until 2200 - 2500 revs

Have a problem with my Navara whereby I get no appreciable boost below 2200 revs. I had to replace the turbo as the shaft broke on the input side and noticed while doing some diagnostics on turbo failure that the pressure feed from the intercooler to the MAP was disconnected. Things I've tried...

    Turbo oil feed

Yep, discovered this last night when I took a more sedate look at the whole setup. There is a coolant feed from the thermostat that tee's off to a banjo connection high up on the block.

    Turbo oil feed

I recently bought a Navara that had recent head work done but the turbo was gone on it. On inspection, I found the shaft was broken. Investigating the cause before replacing the turbo, I found there was no oil feed from the upper port on the block to the turbo. The bottom port is fine and I did...
