Got two D40 utes, one a Rx ute as engine donar and the second a stx with a blown engine. Both 6 SPD manuals.
We've got engine.out of stx ute and on a pallet for parts. Now we have got the Rx engine out and it's on the block going back into engine bay.

I've had similar experiences, and found a good dose of wd40, and wriggling the connection about.. and flicking the tab multiple times has freed most... There is one connection into block? above oil cooler behind the two injector pump connections (scv and temp) that's got me stuck. It's wrapped...

Was the SCV you replaced an OEM unit or Nissan one? As there seems to be a very large difference in price between the two.
Wondering if the additional wear your are seeing here is an indication of quality...
