Howdy All,

The car, 08 D22 CR YD25 Jap Built 125XXXkms.
Appears my Injection pump is slowly dying, it can be heard kilometres away now. It used to do it only when coasting but now will knock very loudly under load also. Fuel filters done every 10k. Injectors 3 in 1 cleaned. Always ran good quality fuels.

Is this a common issue for the k's and model? I'm wondering whether to buy a pump off a wrecked D22 or go a rebuilt / new pump.

Or am I heading down the wrong path and the noise could be something else (loud whack in time with injectors)

Thanks in advance.
Hedgie

it could be slop in the lower timing chain which does drive the fuel pump.
i think it would be wise to check the timing chains and guides for stretch and wear before buying another pump.

Can't say of heard of injection pump failures as being common ( unless you own something with a vp44 ).

you should have the denso pump so just start by pulling out the SCV and give it a cleanup.
search SCV in here and many results will come up. longshot but you might get lucky
