Hey man truck looks awesome, which diff ratio's did you end up using...? really looking forward to seeing some results after the mike vines treatment, sounds like he is the Zordo of the turbo world

Thanks mate. I went from the stock 4.375 to a 4.625. Not an amazing difference, but it's perfect. It's brought everything back to stock levels with the 33's my speedo is accurate within 1km/hr.

Awesome, was the info I was after..... 33's will be the next tyre size for my truck but was a little hesitant after noticing a little bit of power loss with only 32's, the chip and the exhaust make a huge difference but the ratio change running 33's with the yd25 sounds like the go, almost worth it just to have an accurate speedo..... How doe you rate the 4wdsystems lokka, happy with it...?

I love the Lokka. It makes the steering stiffer but makes tackling obstacles a lot slower and controlled.

Just check what ratios and diff housings your truck uses, im pretty sure the YD25 got different ratios to the ZD30.

The truck is in with Mike Vine. I can hardly wait till I get it back tomorrow. He's also going to do a carbon clean of the intake and injection system. So it should run great guns.

Make sure you put up a few pics and a write up with some dyne results, pretty safe to say that it's going to be a bloody tuff rig once you get it back, I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was you, I'd be to friggin excited..... I'll look int the lokkaand cheers for the reply

So.... I've had a call this morning from Mike Vine, and I may not be getting Dyno reports. Their dyno crapped out yesterday, an there a bloke there fixing it now, so I won't have any before sheets, an may or may not get any after report, but I'll feel the change under the pedal regardless.

But I can bring it in next time I'm down and get them to dyno tune it. Now I'm just waiting for the call to tell me it's ready for pickup!

Well I picked it up just before 5. It pulls a lot harder than before, no dyno results to show though.

Definitely a good improvement. The turbo whistle is almost gone, but the induction noise is really noticeable.

Haha I bloody the the WHISTLE...... you'll feel better once you have the paper to back the power, you'll be bloody loving it when your of the beaten track putting your Nav through its paces

Me to mate, I loved the whistle and grumble my truck had. I don't need the paper to back the power, don't get me wrong, I want it, but simply put, it hauls ass pretty well now. It's got a lot more torque which you can feel when you put the foot down on hills an feels it just keep pulling.

So a bit of an update on the build up of a most amazing touring machine. With the majority of the mechanical upgrades out of the way, its time to focus back on properly kitting out the tray. After some serious soul searching, and some epic boredom during a few slow weeks at work, I've decided to completely rewire the tub.

To start the process, I went to a sheet metal place and got two tool boxes made up to fill in the cavity behind the wheel arches. One for the second battery, the other for the air compressor and tank, and a small water pump.

I also got some simple brackets made up for the roof so I could carry the oztent alongside the rhino tray and still have a place for the shovel holder. It's just a proof of concept, so it's not complete yet. It just needs a bit of refining to get it there.

OK, I spent the weekend continuing the build and tray fit out on Saturday I painted up the oztent platform and made a platform for the cab to hold a second spare tyre carcass.

I got a chance to test fit the false floor and make up a shelf to go above the water tank.

We had a random dog sleeping under the house last night that hung around all day to help!

And the rear shelf with frame under it for support, water tank strapped down and plumbed in.

Its all coming together!

I also picked up the new rear bar on Friday night. A massive thanks to Deadly for making this for me.

Gave the ol' girl a wash on Saturday arvo.

And almost finished wiring up the new battery box. It's complicated, but will do amazing things once it's in.

I should do up a "tour video" once I've got it all sorted.

Got the battery box fully wired and back in the truck over the weekend. I also made up a light duty cage that hangs under the roof of the canopy - just to hold some light items like tarps, mats, solar panel (maybe), stuff like that.

Just need to finish wiring up the lights on the roof and under the car and run a cable into the cabin for some switches and to pick up an ignition signal. So far everything is running perfectly off it. I should definitely have the electrics almost fully complete next weekend. Then all thats left is putting the draw box on the false floor, pulling out the rear seats and making up a false floor to replace them and a bit of maintenance. And working out exactly what and how I pack everything in.

Its getting close to being done!
