Looks great, be careful buffing black though. It is the hardest colour to buff and not leave swirl marks, if however you are experienced with a buff, I am sure it will look great.
I was in an automotive paint shop on Canberra a while back and they had "black polish" which is actually black in colour and they swear it is the only thing to use on black paint.
Have fun with your new acquisition, it will be a worthy replacement.

Well the machine buff went well came up good with no residual swirl marks
to be seen.
Only problem is it really highlights the bad bits, no biggy really give it a year or two and I might give it a respray.

Terrano went in for it's roadworthy inspection this week but
unfortunately got knocked back.
They picked 3 things:
Shocks, one ball joint and a cv boot just starting to split.
I knew about the shocks but was hoping to leave them till i got my lift.
Cv boot was looking a bit average but hadn't split so must've only just gone.
And the balljoint was news to me.

So I've ordered a new pair of balljoints and a couple of cv boots.
Got a pair of ome front shocks that I can whack in and I'll go to th wreckers and grab a pair of rears just to get it over.
 
Least its not to expensive for repairs.

Love the WD21's.

Yeah dave parts prices have been quite reasonable aye.
Balljoints where only $63 each.
Surprisingly Terrano's are listed in most parts books .....
Just shows how many where imported.
Soon as I get back from driving my truck around the north west
i'll finish the repairs and get it over the pits and registered.
Already planned the first trip, gonna go down to yeagarup and warren beach
for a fishing/4wd weekend with boys.
 
Australia got the WD21 Pathfinders, they probably share a shit load of parts with the Jap spec Terrano's.
 
You're right dave most bits are the same as the pathfinder except
the Diesel engine wasn't available here only the z24's and VG30's.
Interior trim was different too.
Quite a few Terrano's in the local 4x4 wreckers but no pathfinders
so haven't been able to have a closer comparison while unscrewing bits.
 
Yeeha victory ... The Terrano passed it 's roadworthy inspection
and will be registered by the end of the day. !!
 
So I added up how much it cost to get the Terrano on the road.
All up including purchase price, parts,permits, new plates and rego.
Comes to the grand total of $2040
Pretty good I reckon. Average price around here for a rego'd one in it's
condition would be around $3500-$4500
Now too start the modifying ....... :)
 
So took the terrano out for it's maiden voyage, just went down to a local beach
and put it through it's paces.
First thing discovered is I need a new radiator, started gettin a bit warm when pushed along under load with the boggy beach sand.
Secondly was the front mudflaps had to go as they kept getting friendly
with the tyres.
Surprisingly that was the only bit of clearance issues for the 32's with stock suspension.
Bush driving will no doubt find other areas of concern.
Coming from my d21 navara ka24 petrol 4 with a manual to the turbo diesel
Td27 with an auto was quite a substantial change and required quite a change in driving style.
But really liking the combination so far, next test will be bush driving rocks,ruts,dust and mud should do the trick. :)
Next mod will be installing a lift kit hopefully this weekend sometime.
 
Installed my 2- way and mounted the antennae, as I haven't fitted my roo bar yet I've put the antennae on the back on the spare wheel carrier.

Couple of new additions .
Tjm winch bar.
Picked it up cheap because it had a bit of damage from a lite impact.
Nothing that wasn't fixable with a bit of effort.
Still needs a little bit of work to get it to sit right, once that's done I'll remove it for a paint job and to fit the winch.

Got myself a bit stuck last time out bush, in the process of trying to get out i managed to wreck my exhaust so getting a 2.5" made up to replace it from the turbo back.

Thanks dion it was a rather 'interesting' day.
We used every bit of recovery gear we had and a good dose of ingenuity to get out of that spot and the one directly after.
Got some strange looks from the boys in blue on the way home.

Done some more to it recently, installed a 2" body lift and modified the brackets to lift the winch bar up along with it as well as the rear bumper.
Also installed the but just gotta wire it up now.

They're maxxis bighorns 235/85/16 just under 32" in the old money.
Rims are 16x7 +40 offset but I used an 8mm spacer and longer studs.
All i had to do to stop scrubbing was remove the front mudflaps and adjust the steering lock stops.
That was stock height and pre-body lift.
Never touched even with full articulation.
