Hi All ,
My mates D22 2009 STI has very dim instrument back lighting .
All the forums and web sites I have visited talk about
replacing the T5 globes X3 . On removal of the instrument
cluster there are no globes or globe holders visible . The tacho
has a degree of back light however the other three gauges
only have the needles illuminated .
Would be grateful for any advise .
Cheers , Jerry

Can't say I have any problem with the dash lights in my 2010. As far as I'm aware, they're leds soldered onto the actual board behind the gauges. Someone on here did a bit of a write up a while ago about changing them to a different colour. Whether the leds themselves have died, is hard to say without removing the gauge faces. That's about the only thing you can do, pull it apart and have a look at them.

on the d22 the instrument lights are not leds but older style bulbs, there should be 2 for the lighting which are rated 3w on a black toshiba holder easy to find the bulb in a dealer, if you want to go OEM look, personally i got some SMD leds in there and it just wasnt for me

just looking through the manual, it looks like in 2008 they changed to LED for the gauges.
probably why you can't find any bulbs.
