Hi Guys

Is there a V8 coversion out there as I have blown the v6 up worked it hard.

Thanks guys:banghead:

Some of the guys in the US have put small block Chevs in or a Titan V8. However thats usually in a 4X2.
I give mine a hard time so you musta been pushing it DAMM hard to break it.
What did you break?

hmmm ... a V8 D40 .... now thats something to drool over.

I think changing the whole driveline would be in order with that amount of power on tap - as the diffs and transfer case will keep breaking ... (i know that the hard way - and thats only with a 2.5td under the bonnet)

Never going to live that down are you woody, Sounds like your not the only one. Dont know the exact story but heard last week that a goverment d40 did the same thing on a 4wd training course

I look at putting a V8 in mine but the drive line was too week and i was going to put my old race motor in (400 bow tie 670hp with NOS) the guy said the body would twiss to much. We can only dream

I reckon the chaasis would be fine. D40 rear diffs are strong. Dunno about the transfer.

Th front diff wont take it. R200A it or SAS.

Youd have to run patrol diffs front and rear and run a tb42 or td42 gearbox and transfer case with a marks adapters kit, I wouldnt bother but each to their own

Your Right ... not only am i not going to live it down ... i just went out and did it again.

A Titan 5.6l V8 is rated at 325hp. There's a 70+page build thread on the US Fronty forum on the V8 conversion. Turns out it was quite a bigger undertaking than initially anticipated.

It's not a herculean task to either boost the diesel yd25 d40 to 300hp, with more torque than the V8 to boot, nor is it that difficult to put a Stillen or South African Vortec based supercharger kit on a VQ40, yieling 300+whp.

It could be reasoned that these are easier power-up options than the v8 swap.

Those Titan's are awesome.
I just got back form Hawaii 3 days ago and spent the last week drooling over that V8 rumble.

I have no doubt it could be done, anything is possible you just need lots of cash and or time. Been down the conversion road many years ago. Corrola engines in LJ 50/80 Suzukis Holden 6 in early Hilux and I can tell you for sure it's just not worth it.
Fix the 6 and go and buy a V8.

that ebay add haha , "Tim Olson" typical greasy looking car salesman. Back on topic , find a good v8 conversion specialist and throw a shitload of cash at him.

It would be awesome, I personally would keep it all nissan, keep in mind there are alot of things you wouldnt think of considering when budgeting for a conversion... When we stuck a vh45 in my r33 doing all the work with myself and a good mate we went way over the original budget and that was doing absolutely everything ourselves.
