There's a slipping torque converter at work on a chart!

The power charts look quite different to those of a manual, don't they? The engine produces a much sharper torque increase between 1500 and 2000rpm than seen in those graphs, so the torque converter is obviously hard at work there! That would change dramatically with a billet TC from Wholesale Automatics with its lower stall speed.

I would be concerned with the results of this particular remap though. Peak torque is arriving too early in the rev range. The autos won't lock their TCC until the car is doing 80km/h in Drive (or higher), so these autos may not be cruising on the highway as efficiently as they could be.

Locking the TCC earlier would solve the problem nicely, but it would change the optimum cruise speed in the auto - by the looks of the graph, from 95km/h down to 75km/h!
 
Slingshot converters can rebuild the torque converter to personal requirements.. be nice to get a custom tune from vtech and combine it with a torque converter set up..
