Travelled from Perth to Geelong driving 07 D40 Diesel Auto towing a 19ft Starcraft Outback caravan i was getting between 30.5L/100 to 34.5L/100 = 260km from 140 litre tank, until at Murray Bridge when the motor overheated and stop my trip
My D40 is in for the 80,000 Km service now, and i told them about a loud rattle in the motor went cold. 3 hours later service team phone me , the timing chain needs to be replace now. And will be covered under nissan warranty.

I do agree with you Normadic Navara about transfering fog light to the bullbar is waste time. I went for a good pair driving/spot lights with colour filter for bad weather. Its better than losting 3 points and/or $100 fine in w.a
We are still using ours 23 year old engel 35 Litres fridge-freezer its been on Gibb River Road,Warburton Road,Canning Stock Route,Gunbarrel Hwy x2 and alot of other trips. Only have replace a thermostat and a lid over that time.
I do agree that the ARB canopies are stronger. Last week i was checking out prices in Perth on a colour coded grained finish . Nissan quoted $4495.00 fitted, Flexiglass $2150 + $176 window +$550 roof rack = $2876 fitted, ARB $2369.75 fitted.
G`Day Scubafreak, I have 285/50R-20 on my D40 navara on 8.5 rims. I am about to replace them for 265/70R-17 on a 8 inch rim. With 285 tyres on the navara, The Tyres are 45mm closer to the suspension and brake lines than standard. I hope this info help. Rob.C
I brought my nav with 20x8.5 Stealth rims with 285/50r20 tyres, But i would like to replace them with 265/70R17 Cooper ATR on 17x 8 Victory rim for off road work.
