Can i use standard Dextron 3 ATF in my navara or does it have to be ATF J as nissan states. Dunno what the J stands for. I just happen to have a 20L drum of Dextron 3 and would be a shame to have to buy a different type. cheers guys

well Old Tony ist not exactly a spring as such although the name would suggest. its more of a resin sealed electrical module which mounts under the steering wheel. for some reason nissan call it a clock spring, there wouldnt be a spring in it at all. you may have seen older cars where they run...

Mine has been blocked off for a couple months now and has made a great difference in fuel economy and no black smoke anymore. I just used a bit of 1.5mm ally plate with sikaflex to seal it. job done

Has anyone out there needed to replace the clock spring behind your steering wheel which supplies power to your cruise control, horn and airbag. have only recently replaced mine at $390 bucks and now its shit itself again.

smokey D40 i will be trying this mod asap, mine blows heaps of smoke when cruising at low revs or when you plant your foot but none at high revs flat out on the highway. Nissan have reset the fuel pump which did nothing and if they dont get any codes they dont have a clue. thanks for the idea...
